Final Expenses
Preparation is an act of love for those left behind.

Are you prepared for final expenses?
-
About 40% of Americans aren't prepared for an expense of $400 let alone final expenses
-
Final Expenses in California are roughly $10,000 and can be higher
-
It is roughly estimated that there are about 100,000 indigent burials on a national level yearly; these are burials handled by counties where families are not permitted to hold a funeral to say their final goodbyes.
Am I required to pay for a deceased family member's final expenses?
-
Per California State Law - Health and Safety Code 7103: "Every person, upon whom the duty of interment is imposed by law, who omits to perform that duty within a reasonable time is guilty of a misdemeanor."
-
You're required to attend to the matter if you are listed as having the duty of interment; if you are unable to afford the final expenses for your relative, you are required to communicate this to your state county.
-
What are some of my options?
